    The T. W. Wood Gallery at 46 Barre St in Montpelier, Vermont is pleased to announce two new exhibits of Vermont artists work: Susan Abbot's Warm Places and Axel Stohlberg's Abstraction Around Me, plus the f 7 photography group's Seven Ways of Seeing will run from January 2 through February 23, 2018 with an opening reception on Thursday, January 4, from 5:00-7:00 pm. The reception is free and will offer an opportunity to meet the artists, purchase art and enjoy refreshments. There will be a Gallery Art Talk with the Axel Stohlberg on Friday, February 2 at 5:30 pm followed by Q & A with members of the f 7 group at 6:30 pm.

  6. Third Thursday: Family Humor with Dawn Andrews

    Dawn Andrews’ grandfather Stanley Lyndes was a teacher, craftsman, storyteller, artist, hunter, and above all “noticer.” Some of his quirky, humorous and intriguing work is on display in the Local History Gallery in the exhibit “Family Traits: Art, Humor and Everyday Life.” Dawn will speak about family storytelling and humor in early 20th century central Vermont, and how family culture can persist through generations. Third Thursday talks are free & open to everyone. Bring your lunch, coffee & tea provided.

    Winter’s premier birding competition is back! Past NBNC’s youth and young adult teams have tallied nearly 100 species in this adventure to the New Hampshire and Massachusetts coast, including gems like Razorbill, King Eider, and Snowy Owl.   15. Climate: Seasonal Changes of Vermont Flora

    Josh Halman, Forest Health Specialist with Vermont Dept. of Forests, Parks and Recreation. The timing of budbreak in the spring and development of fall color are highly dependent on light and temperature. As our world warms this timing is likely to change, and we have already seen the impacts in Vermont. This talk will present findings from over 25 years of monitoring forest trees and plant life in the state.
