  1. Galen Cheney & Tessa G. O’Brien

    The T.W. Wood Art Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibit featuring the work of Galen Cheney & Tessa G. O’Brien. Galen Cheney’s current work is a deepening of an exploration started during a residency in China in 2015. In China, Cheney worked with accumulated papers, building them up into multi-layered constructions. Tessa G. O’Brien combines representation and process-based abstraction with color and mark-making to describe the experience and memory of places she has known. Reception: September 6th, 3 – 8PM In Conjunction with Elevation Celebration and Art Walk The opening reception will take place on Friday, September 6th from 3 to 8pm in conjunction with Elevation Celebration and Art Walk. 3pm – Elevation Celebration: Ribbon cutting for the new elevator at the TW Wood Gallery and The Center for Arts and Learning; will include Mayor Ann Watson and Katie Miller, Executive Director of Vermont Inclusive Arts. 4-8pm - Art receptions and Art Walk.

  2. Northern Vermont Artist Association at TW Wood Gallery

    The Northern Vermont Artist Association (NVAA) was founded in 1931 by Harold S. Knight and several of his fellow Burlington area contemporaries. The mission of the NVAA has always been “To encourage the study, improve the practice, evaluate the standards and advance the cause of creative art”. Maxfield Parrish was one of the first NVAA artists, and over the decades many important regional artists such as Francis Colburn, Roy Kennedy, Ruth Mould, and Stan Marc Wright have been members. Membership is open to all Northern Vermont visual artists, working in any media. Reception: October 3rd, 5:00 – 7:00pm Join us for a chance to view the work, enjoy light refreshments, and meet and greet the artists. Come celebrate with us!

  4. Montpelier Community Wild Game Tasting

    The Fish & Wildlife Department, the Vermont Bowhunters Association and Montpelier residents concerned with deer management in their city will be hosting a free Community Wild Game Tasting evening on Wednesday, October 16 in downtown Montpelier at The Garage Cultural Center, 58 State Street from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. This local, free event will provide a chance for anyone who has ever wanted to try some wild venison, moose or bear and would like to learn about hunting and deer management.
